Perhaps you are interested in taking a tour or participating in one of the many activities in Ahipara and the Far North. For the latest information and best service please contact the Visitor I Site at :http://www.newzealand.com/int/visitor-information-centre/

Beach Abode is located in the small sea side village of Ahipara. Ahipara is in the upper north island of New Zealand, on 90 Mile Beach. We are a 5 hour drive north from Auckland International Airport or a 20 minute drive from Kaitaia Airport.

Ahipara is a remote destination; Free from the commercialism that tends to come with tourism. It is a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. Most of the year the population base is quite small.

We do not have traffic jams, air pollution and crowded streets. Locals are generous, friendly and open. Villagers are happy to be living in paradise and will welcome you to share in the experience.

Ahipara is ideally suited for a couples getaway, the independent traveller and adventure people alike. Favourite pastimes are beach combing, hiking, swimming, dog walking, surfing and fishing.

90- Mile beach is perfect for walking and compact enough for running and bicycling. One can gather tua tua’s, surf cast or fish off the rocks at Shippies.

Ahipara is also a photographers dream. Gorgeous reflections off the water, rugged land and seascapes, eggshell blue sky, billowy clouds and golden sand.

The village centre of Ahipara consists of a few shops. There is a small grocery store, a liquor store, fish & chip shop, petrol station, cafe, art gallery and one licensed restaurant.

The main shopping centre is located in Kaitaia, 14 kilometres down the road. Ahipara is also part of the “Twin Coast Discovery Highway” that takes travellers around both coast of the upper north island.

If a retreat in paradise is your idea of a holiday, you will be most satisfied with Ahipara and the Far North.
